Name of Training Course
Training in traffic on the apron – Part 1 – General (In accordance with the circular of 5 August 2010 in relation to vehicle traffic training procedures at aerodromes.

Description
The course “Runway Friction Coefficient” is a one day theory course to obtain the necessary knowledge to perform measurements and calculate the friction coefficient to determine the ability of the runway to accommodate aircraft depending on runway conditions which may alter aircraft braking performance.

Personnel operating measuring devices inform the authorities who issue a runway bulletin without really understanding the calculation methodologies and what the values mean.

To complete the training of operators we offer a course with various different specialists.

General and Specific Objectives
At the end of the course participants will be able to :
Interpret the rules and standards that apply to friction coefficient
Measure and calculate friction coefficient
Apply the procedures for calculating runway friction coefficient
Interpret the results
Publish the results
Understand the equipment needed to calculate the runway friction coefficient
Analyse the risks related to runway friction coefficient
