Training for wildlife hazard management coordinator

 

Description
The training for wildlife hazard management coordinator is a 4 days course.
It offers a knowledge building so that participants can train in what they have learned and consolidate their capabilities. If the trainee has followed with success an initial WHM training of 4 days by airtrace, and has worked in this field for more than 12 months in the last 18 months following the final exam, he will be able to receive the international WHM Officer Certificate. If the prerequisite is not fullfilled, the trainee will receive a Certificate of WHM coordinator.

Objectives
General and Specific Objectives :
- Know the main wildlife species and their behaviour as well as their living environment
- Manage the Wildlife Hazard Management process
- Be proficient in active management and prevention techniques
- Use of statistical tools

Skills Acquired
At the end of the course, trainees will be able to recognise the main species of birds and animals at their airport and be able to use active control techniques against animals that constitute a threat to aviation, as well as being able to manage procedures for preventing wildlife hazards from affecting airports. They will also be able to implement tools for wildlife risk analysis in accordance with EASA or ICAO requirements and manage a department.

 

Professional Context
At the end of this training the WHM Officer can evolve as Manager / Referrer / Key person of the Wildlife Hazard Management on an airport platform.

Prerequisites
Familiarity with the airport environment. Sufficient level of linguistic capability.

Certificate of WHM coordinator or (if the prerequisites are fullfilled) International WHM Officer Certificate
