Description
The course is to familiarise attendees with ornithology and the relationship between local fauna and the natural environment The first module presents the basics of bird identification.

General and Specific Objectives
Acquire knowledge in ornithology and census methods
Develop a general environmentally-conscious culture
Observe and count identified objects
Collecting and recording data
Understand the ornithological problem
Communicate accurate information to the population

Skills Acquired
At the end of the course attendees will be able to recognise the main species of birds and associate them with a natural environment.

 

Professional Context
WHM officer or environmental officer. The course may be performed prior to taking up such a position.
