Introduction to Wildlife Hazard Management
(in accordance with the Order of 30 April 2014 of the French Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy in relation to wildlife hazard management at airports).

Description
This introduction to wildlife hazard control is a four day course for personnel responsible for controlling wildlife hazards at airports.

It combines theoretical and practical modules. Classroom and field training gives participants the best possible understanding of the airport environment. To then apply what they learned in the classroom, trainees take part in field training workshops under realistic conditions.

General and Specific Objectives
Impart general knowledge on aeronautics and aircraft.
Introduce ornithology and mammalology.
Present the objectives of wildlife hazard control.
Explain the airport environment, factors which attract fauna and solutions.
Study and practice ways and methods for controlling wildlife.

 


Skills Acquired
At the end of the course participants will have general knowledge about airports, aircraft and animal species and will be able to carry out active wildlife hazard control measures.

Professional Context
Participants are responsible for controlling wildlife hazards at an airport. Follow-up courses can be organised afterwards to maintain professional skills and keep them up to date as technology changes.

Prerequisites
Commitment as a personnel member responsible for controlling wildlife hazards at an airport.
